When Jen and I began writing MOTHER/FOUNDER back in 2022, we knew that creating this kind of book hinged on the generosity of so many, so it was essential for us to show our gratitude and to give back to our community of amazing mom entrepreneurs. We offered all of our profiled participants a $100 honorarium to thank them for their time and wisdom, and we each set aside $5,000 from our book advance to establish a scholarship fund for one lucky MOTHER/FOUNDER with dreams of building or expanding her business.
But then something magical happened. Most of the mothers we interviewed donated their $100 to the fund, bumping it up to nearly $15,000. Then we reached out to brand partners, who contributed enough products and services to bring the total to over $20,000. We couldn't be happier to offer one $10,000 grand prize and two $2,500 runner-up prizes (see details below) to boost three mom-owned businesses this Mother's Day season.
